Healing, learning & growing through experiences with horses.

Courageous Connections

Our Mission

To promote the physical and emotional development of people of all ages and abilities through safe, therapeutic, outdoor experiences.

In riding a horse, we borrow freedom.

- Helen Thompson -

To ensure the safety of our participants, volunteers and staff we have implemented COVID-19 procedures according to state guidelines.

These classes continue
to be on hold
for health and safety
reasons during
COVID-19 precautions period.
This non-riding horse experience helps participants learn about healthy relationships and leadership skills while working with horses from the ground.
What we hear from our volunteers:
'This is a life-changing experience'
Drop by for one of our classes and find out why!
Your donations provide scholarships to participants in need and help us care for our beautiful horses.
Every dollar helps!

We are very grateful for the many unexpected blessings that have come to us during this difficult time.  At the same time, we are saddened that we are still unable to reunite with our therapeutic riding students whom we miss so very much. We have come to the difficult decision that we will not resume our Therapeutic Riding program at this time and plan to re-evaluate in 2021. We are absolutely committed to keeping our participants safe at all times.

We have been exploring new possibilities of how Courageous Connections might help our community members navigate through this challenging time.  We believe with all of our hearts that now more than ever people need an opportunity to connect with nature, horses, and themselves.  With that in mind, we are thrilled to announce that our Equine Encounters program has received the ‘essential service’ designation from the Dept of Health of Snohomish County!  We couldn’t be more delighted to provide people of all ages with an opportunity to be with a horse and to re-discover the peace and ease that lives within themselves. Please read the full statement from our President, Kathy Sanders below.
