Courageous Connections circle logo letterhead.

Our Mission is to promote and enhance the physical and emotional growth of people of all ages and unique abilities through the use of therapeutic, outdoor experiences including interactions with horses and other domesticated animals.

The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and freedom.

Transformative Moments & What’s to Come

This month marks ONE YEAR at our beautiful farm and it has turned out to be everything we hoped for and more!  We are so grateful for the financial support we have received from our donors and to all of the amazing people who have stepped forward to volunteer in so many ways!

Since moving to the farm, we've expanded our workshops to include diverse groups such as "at risk" youth, children in foster care, cancer patients, and hospice care recipients. We've also been able to offer more classes, witnessing amazing transformations among our participants:

  • A young participant who was nonverbal when she started is now beginning to say some words.

  • Another participant was so anxious and frightened he wouldn’t get out of the car for weeks, but is now leading his horse.

  • Another nonverbal child who wouldn’t go near Willow (our mini horse) reached out to pet Remi, a full-size horse.

  • One woman, who has battled anxiety and depression for years, has significantly reduced her medication dependency through regular participation in our classes.

It is truly a privilege to witness these personal triumphs and to see participants who have felt powerless and isolated develop confidence, self-esteem and communication skills to transform their challenges into capabilities.

As many of you know the grant, we were awarded has provided for almost all of our facility repairs and renovations; new roofs and decks, gutters, plumbing and electrical updates, as well as the garden excavation.  The grant does not cover our fixed expenses like hay, grain, and vet bills for the horses, insurance and utilities, or programming costs like salaries and supplies. At the same time, we are committed to keeping our program fees affordable.

Our vision includes hiring a Program Director to enhance daily operations, expanding workshops to support veterans and domestic abuse survivors, and developing a Children’s Garden within our expanded garden space. This initiative will offer educational opportunities about healthy food choices and accessible activities for participants with disabilities, such as paved paths and raised garden beds.

Your support is crucial in helping us reach more individuals who can benefit from our programs. To that end we invite you to join us for our upcoming Barn Boogie Fundraiser on August 17. Your presence and contribution would mean the world to us!

Barn Boogie Fundraiser tickets are available HERE.

If attending isn't possible, please consider making a donation to help us sustain and expand our programs. DONATE.

We have ambitious goals ahead of us! Your contribution will enable us to continue our mission and make a meaningful impact in the lives of many.  Thank you for considering our request and for being a part of our journey to create positive change in our community.
